IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR OWNERS OF TENORI-ON (TNR-W)

Yamaha is committed to producing world-class, state of the art musical instruments of which TENORI-ON (TNR-W) is one of our most innovative in recent years.  We operate rigorous product testing procedures designed to ensure our global reputation for reliability and durability is maintained.  

We have had one report worldwide where a TENORI-ON (TNR-W) has failed to work with batteries and overheating has occurred within the batteries.  

We are keen to ensure that TENORI-ON (TNR-W) will work reliably for many years to come, so as a precautionary measure, we would like to take the opportunity to inspect and modify certain serial numbers of TENORI-ON (TNR-W) to ensure that this cannot happen.  We are therefore offering a free recall and modification service with the minimum inconvenience to the owner.

The serial numbers affected are as follows.

Should you own one of the serial numbers above, please contact our Yamaha Music UK helpline on 01908 363405 during UK office hours or email your contact details to tenori-on.customer@gmx.yamaha.com . Alternatively, you can use our online form to submit your details immediately.

Locate your serial number within the battery compartment

TENORI-ON (TNR-W) serial number (to be found inside the battery compartment)

Should your TENORI-ON (TNR-W) need the modification then we will arrange collection and return without delay and we will also supply you with a free SD card as a gesture of goodwill.

In the unlikely event that, having fitted batteries to your TENORI-ON (TNR-W), you find the instrument does not function please put your TENORI-ON (TNR-W) in a safe place with the battery covers facing upwards. If the batteries have become hot, please wait for them to cool and then contact Yamaha on 01908 363405. Should there be any leakage from the batteries you should avoid contact with the leaked fluid and refer to the Precautions shown on Page 2 of your ‘TENORI-ON Precautions' manual.

If the batteries do leak, avoid contact with the leaked fluid. If the battery fluid should come into contact with your eyes, mouth or skin, wash immediately with water and consult a doctor. Battery fluid is corrosive and may possibly cause loss of sight or chemical burns.

IMPORTANT UK TENORI-ON PRICING NEWS

Due to the current exchange rate situation its become necessary for us to increase the UK price of Tenori-on. This advance warning of this pending increase gives you a few days to take advantage of the current price before it goes up!

The tenori-on uk online store price will be increased on 1st April 2008 from the current £599 to £629 inc VAT.

Tenori-on fever continues! As demand for this most innovative light and sound sequencer continues to grow, the word is also out in the artist community that this is one must-have, must-play gadget. Mark Barrott, Future Loop Foundation’s technology-loving front man, has been after one since launch and recently finally got his hands on one…

“It really opens your mind to new possibilities,” he says. “It’s Steve Reich for the modern age…” And Mark knows all about new possibilities. A decade ago he was leading the way on the drum n bass scene before turning chillout. Last year’s ‘Album Of The Year’ Memories From A Fading Room spawned a couple of summer soundtrack classics (appearing all over the BBC and Sky TV) and he’s currently gearing up for a ground-breaking audio and visual spectacular tour.

The list of high profile artists queuing up to get their hands on Yamaha’s Tenori-on is staggering. Many, in fact, have been left disappointed due to short supplies of the innovative light and sound sequencing tone module. So far Björk has been spotted on tour with one in South America and Peter Gabriel is known to be experimenting with one at Real World, but another cutting edge artist lucky enough to get his hands on an early unit was Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet.

7pm Friday 1st February  -  Apple Store, Regent Street, London, Yamaha will hold a Tenori-on workshop featuring Mr Yu Nishibori, the producer of Tenori-on.
This workshop presentation will help you discover how inspiring it can be to create a tune and then explore the hidden depths of Tenori-on.  Covering the operational concepts, how use it on stage and its integration with the Mac, this session will inspire you to experience this new 'Tenori-on' way of music composition.

London demonstration days
